There is no finer place to dive into the center of a true diabetic coma, than Kilwin's. Everytime I walk in, a slow tingle of euphoria takes me over, and I am brought back to my childhood, ya know throwing complete fits until I wore my parents down enough that would hand be $20 and tell me to get lost. I always headed straight to Kilwin's to drop some loot, and I still do! We hit Kilwin's up on our way out of town. This time we scooped up chocolate covered toffee, peanut butter cups, turtles and a slab of Traverse City 'Mud' fudge. We waited all of 10 minutes to start digging in. The chocolate is so smooth and rich, the peanut butter is natural and velvety - not like the artificial ingredients of a Reese's, and much bigger! The sugary snacks didn't last long, and I am already grieving the loss of my chocolatey treasures, and my waistline.

Fudge, candy, caramel apples, sea foam, ice cream, all sooooo very good. I had no idea there were so many franchises, having grown up with the shop on Front St., but I was recently in Orlando and St. Augustine, FL and enjoyed seeing the familiar goodies. Keep it up, wellspring of buttery joy!

Carmeled Apples are delicious. I get one almost every time that I am downtown :) They also have other great treats if you're into chocolate, which I am not.

OMG, Kilwin's has the best ice cream in town! Conveniently located in the heart of Traverse City's downtown area, Kilwin is a great addition to this laid back resort town. There's nothing better to have, after a long day at the beach, than a nice scoop of creamy old fashioned ice cream on freshly made waffle cones. The coconut and the blueberry waffle ice cream are AMAZING. There's also fudge, chocolates, and caramel apples made right in the store. It's a great way to end your meal at TC. Well, I started mine with Kilwin's because I couldn't wait! Yeah, it's that good.

Chocolate lovers dream! Huge selection of chocolates. :) Carmel apples! (Sea salt dark chocolate Carmel apple?! Drool) I haven't tried the ice cream but it seems popular! Fudge is good if that's your thing! It's too rich and sweet for me. I'm glad I don't love close to this place! I'd be fat!

Salted caramel ice cream. Check. This place makes damned good salted caramel no matter which location you visit. In Traverse tonight, after spending the afternoon hiking the dunes at Sleeping Bear. Made the ice cream that much better. Cheers!

Great ice cream / fudge store. They have every conceivable kind of fudge you can imagine. We just went straight for their ice cream. They had lot's of good flavors and you can of course sample them first. I got a double chocolate and Mackinaw Fudge and they were both very good. I got a chocolate waffle cone and it was the base waffle cone I can remember having. Their cones are so good that they sell cone pieces by the bag separately.

Delicious fudge and ice cream. Many flavors to choose from. The fudge was expensive and was $10 a piece. The ice cream selection was good. I had pistachio and chocolate fudge pecan. My son had cookies and cream. Two ice cream cones were $13 so a bit pricey.

Yes. Very well-organized and fully stocked sugar heaven. Very good ice cream, with plenty of options for cones, add-ins, mixtures. Excellent helpful staff was on top of things every step of the way. Don't miss.

This place was spot on. I'm originally from Louisiana and the New Orleans Pecan Praline was the bet ice cream I've ever eaten. ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT! I also got cake batter (as seen in the image). It was also yummy but not as perfect as the praline. The New Orleans praline is a must have if you are in town!!!

This place is so dangerous if you have a sweet tooth. So many goodies to choose from. My favorite would have to be the Ritz cracker peanut butter sandwich covered in chocolate. It is like a much better version of a Girl Scout cookie. I cannot get enough of them. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the area. It is amazing!

Docked a single star because -- face it -- they're all over the place and they all look the same. But it's good ice cream, good fudge, good times. Always dependable.

Oh HELL NO! Its like bringing a crack head to the crack capital of the world. A diabetics haven. Kilwin's is amazing. The ice cream is so rich and delicious that I think I gained 5 lbs before even walking out of there. Several varieties and several types of cones. Ice cream not your thing, well dont you worry, they have everything imaginable to make you gain cellulite all over your thighs.

The fudge is excellent here. Try the sea salt one and you will not be disappointed. I was just in tc for vacation and went to kilwins on the first day I was in town and the fudge was so good I had to stop by before leaving town to get some more.

Because of all the rave reviews I went to this place for the first time recently. I have no complaints about the service at all so I'll just talk about something ele. It was buy one ice cream and get second one free. I asked for a waffle cone bowl with two scoops of ice cream along with second ice cream which was supposedly free. The price came to a wopping $6.10! Now I'll talk about taste to tell you whether or not those ice creams were worth it. The waffle cone and the ice cream tasted super sugery. So sugery that I almost threw the whole thing out after just two bites, and I'm the kind of person who loves all kinds of ice cream. I would rather have purchased a ice cream for $1.99 (once in a great while they do have buy one get one free deal) at Walgreens. It would have tasted better and lot cheaper. I suggest you save your money!

Oh Kilwin's....you are so delicious. Everytime we're in TC we end up wandering into this place, drooling all over the counter and picking up calories that we don't need. Monday night was no exception - after being "too full" for dessert at Amical, we decided we COULD squeeze in some Kilwin's ice cream. And toffee. And chocolate. The ice cream here is awesome! Kilwin tracks is my drug of choice, while the bf goes for the standard double chocolate. He was MMMMMing and WOWing the entire time he ate his cone! We also picked up some toffee and a chocolate bar for the road...but who are we kidding, I ate the toffee right there! So obviously homemade, there is nothing like that SNAP of the toffee breaking off, followed by the sweet-saltiness of the toffee, nuts and chocolate melting in your mouth. My ice cream was also packed to the gills with deliciousness, like PB cups and chocolate pieces. I really can't say enough good things about Kilwin's...go in there if you dare, but be prepared to come out a bit heavier than when you went in!!!

Pure Michigan... Pure Deliciousness. Kilwin's is a Traverse City staple, featuring a treat that is so wonderful we even name our tourists after it- Fudgies. Fudge, ice cream, candy, and more... the entire shop has an aroma that is to die for, making it impossible to leave empty handed. Stop in while roaming through the gorgeous downtown for a treat... I highly recommend an ice cream waffle cone. Unfortunately for me (or my calorie intake) I work just a stone's throw away... danger zone. Apparently there are Kilwin's all over the place, but trust, this is THE spot, franchise or not. You can't beat a little Traverse City with side of sweet.

I could NOT wait to try this place! We got a few pieces of candy because honestly everything was so expensive in there we couldn't justify much more. If I'm going to spend more, I'm going to make sure they do the basics right. While the sample piece of fudge was good (but not hand me your first born in exchange for 3 slices, good) the candy we bought (I think melt aways and caramel) weren't impressive. We did enjoy watching the guys make the fudge. This was the only place who actually made their fudge in front of customers unlike another popular fudge chain who never had samples out and seemed to have disgruntled employees. I'm sure their other stuff is really good, I'm just really cheap.
